Eating My Elephant

Rome was not built in a day. But Rome was actually built in one day by laying just one foundational brick.  If you can start it, you can finish it! – Femi Adediran,  2020

No place is too far to go, No mountain is too high to climb, No task is too difficult to undertake. Possibilities are “our realities” but impossibilities have become “our familiarity”. Our realities must become our familiarity if we must experience our possibilities – Femi Adediran, 2020

Your mentality is your reality. Nothing else really matters! – Femi Adediran, 2020

If you cannot eat an elephant, you cannot eat anything at all…The least you can do is to eat the elephant before you…- Femi Adediran, 2020

The same problem that made someone run mad is the same problem that someone else has and he goes out to play golf. Problems become as big or as small as imagined. Everything you can imagine is your reality! – Femi Adediran, 2020

What you do not start, you do not finish and what you have started, you have finished. The only way to finish up is to start up .- Femi Adediran, 2020

If you cannot eat an elephant, you cannot eat anything at all…The least you can do is to eat the elephant before you. No place is too far to go, No mountain is too high to climb, No task is too difficult to undertake. Possibilities are “our realities” but impossibilities have become “our familiarity”. Our realities must become our familiarity if we must experience our possibilities. To eat your elephant, you must train your heart and mind in the familiarity of impossibilities.

“Elephants” are not as big as we see them but they are as big as we picture them…in our hearts. Your mentality is your reality. Nothing else really matters! Everything becomes as big or as small as pictured…even our problems. The strength of any problem is its capacity in our mentality. Problem can only be as big as imagined. The amount of space your problem occupies in your life is directly proportional to the amount of space it occupies in your mind. The smaller they get at heart, the smaller they become in reality

Problems have a way of going away when they are stifled in our hearts. A very good way to surmount your mountain is to have fantasy of “seemingly impossibilities” this is the reality, Task becomes as difficult as presumed and as simple as assumed. A 4years programme in a college could look like a 100years programme. That is why many never made it to the college or university. The toughest task is the assumptions of your mind. Assuming the impossibilities

We know one thousand and one ways of how things won’t work out. And we barely have an idea of one solution. The same problem that made someone run mad is the same problem that someone else has and he goes out to play golf. Problems become as big or as small as imagined. Everything you can imagine is your reality!

How do you complete a Year? By completing a minute, an hour, a day, a week, a month and voila! Its 365days already. What you do not start, you do not finish and what you have started, you have finished. The only way to finish up is to start up. It will take an average human being, 6 years and 2 months to eat up a whole Elephant and how do you do that? By just taking a bite! You only finish eating an elephant by just a bite and then another bite.

  • How do you get married for 60years…By staying married for 1year
  • How do you finish a 4year programme at the University? By completing the first semester
  • How do you get a dirty room cleaned up? By picking up the little dirt by the bed side.
  • How do you write a book? By writing a line right away
  • How do you start ( Finish) a project? By taking the least step today.
  • How do you eat an Elephant? By taking a bite today

To get to the finish line, have the end in mind from the beginning. Rome was not built in a day. But Rome was actually built in one day by laying just one foundational brick.  If you can start it, you can finish it!
