NO TIME TO CHECK TIME; HOW FAR IS SUGARLAND?

One of the deadliest things you can do in life is to make your distractions your attraction. Ignore is the word for those who wants to get to their destination safely.

Finding purpose is what makes life and living exciting! Every other thing is boring.

Sometimes all you need is to give yourself some grace, to be patient with yourself and to be patient with others.

Respect boundaries if you want to get to your destination without accident.

Patience is both a virtue and a weapon.

Invest in minutes of your life and the hours will take care of themselves.

I looked on my GPS and it read 272miles – 4hrs 09 minutes! Thats a long time! and it seemed like forever to me.

I wished for a miracle at the time, something to catapult me from Dallas to Sugarland in Houston where I had an engagement over the weekend. The distance and the time were a big burden for me at the time I must say.

Key in the starter, ignition on, I hit the road blasting some nice music while thinking about many things. It’s just what I do all the time, to meditate while I drive, perhaps out of desire to kill the time or to make my driving time productive, I cannot really say.

The next time I looked on my GPS, I had about 172 miles to go, I smiled as I pulled over at the nearby gas station to get some gas, my mountain is coming down gradually, I was happy.

The road was full of many “events and happenings” other than the movement of cars that were either speeding by or are parked by the roadside. I see accident, police inspection of cars, some people doing road walk, I see all sorts. I was actually lost in thoughts as I looked on.

The sound of my GPS brought me out of my reverie, “in 1 mile, turn right to Synott road”, I was like what! I was just about 10minutes away from my destination. What I thought was forever is now 10mins away! I was excited and sober at the same time. Excited because my destination is finally in view, and sober because the reality of the brevity of our journey here on earth became dawn on me.

Our lifetime truly may seem so long yet its so so short. Very soon, our destination will be in view and there would really be no time to check time!

See below 7 lessons amongst several other lessons i ganered from my trip to Sugarland

1. Life journey is too short to be playing prank.

Everyday is a step closer to your destination. Don’t just prank your way through life, find a definition, find a great cause for your life and explore it like tommorrow is the end!

Finding purpose is what makes life and living exciting! Every other thing is boring.

2. If your life must count, you must make every moment count.

You won’t have to worry about your life dividend in the end if you will make every moment count for you.

Invest in minutes of your life and the hours will take care of themselves.

3. Stay focused on your journey if you don’t want to have accident on the road of life.

Statistics have shown that 90% of road accidents happen within 2 seconds of distraction.

One of the deadliest things you can do in life is to make your distractions your attraction. Ignore is the word for those who wants to get to their destination safely.

4. Speed is good, knowing when to apply the brake is better.

Don’t go so fast that you forget to apply the brake where and when necessary, otherwise you may end up destroying too many things.

Sometimes all you need is to give yourself some grace, to be patient with yourself and to be patient with others.

Patience is both a virtue and a weapon.

5. Mirrors are your best companion on the road.

A good driver knows that keeping your eyes on the mirror helps you maintain good road practice.

Looking in the mirrors help reflect on the past for a better performance in the future and to maintain cordial relationship both with ourselves and other road users

Once in a while, we need to pause and look in the mirror to see how we are fairing on the busy highway of life

6. Life is a serious business, i agree but we must learn to have fun amidst the serious business of life so we don’t burn out turning a 4hrs journey to 4days in hell.

I was blasting my music as I drove along. And somehow the journey suddenly become shorter than 4hours

Find time to laugh and dance. Find time to enjoy your time. Your mileage is running out fast!

7. Maintain safe distance from other road users.
